Vulcan Steel Products hosted over 50 Shelby County Schools counselors this week for their STEM Industry meeting.
The intention for holding this meeting at Vulcan Steel was to learn about local options for students who do not intend on going straight to college or the military. The counselors were looking to gain knowledge on how to best lead those students as it was not the path they personally experienced, nor the path of most educators. They toured the Heat Treat Department and Vulcan’s production manager, Brian Parrish, spoke with them about what manufacturing companies are looking for in entry level employees.
These types of partnerships are key to a successful workforce future. Thank you to Shelby County Schools for all they are doing to develop the next generation.
